We understand that leaving your dog in an unfamiliar place can be stressful for both of you. That's why we've created a membership-based community where we only accept dogs that we know and who know us. This means your dog won't blend into the crowd; they'll be a cherished member of our family. Our staff knows each dog personally, creating trust and comfort. Your dog will play with familiar friends and be cared for by people who truly care. Making boarding with us stress-free, whether it’s for a day or an extended stay.
Our journey began in 2011 with Charlie, our beloved yellow lab. Like many dogs, Charlie was full of energy and needed a space where he could thrive. I found that place at Mahogany Ridge, where Charlie quickly became a regular, attending daycare multiple times a week. When I saw the difference in Charlie's happiness and behavior, I knew I had found something special.
My connection to Mahogany Ridge grew deeper after forming a friendship with Jen, who ran the business. We bonded over our shared love for dogs and our commitment to giving them the best lives possible. When the challenges of 2020 hit, there was an opportunity to take Jen's incredible work to the next level. In February 2021, my husband Ed and I purchased Mahogany Ridge, and with careful planning and collaboration, we embarked on a new adventure—building a new facility and rebranding as Charlie's Stay + Play.
The heart of what made Mahogany Ridge special remains unchanged. We are still all about the safety, happiness, and wellness of the dogs in our care. Our commitment to knowing each dog personally and maintaining a close-knit community is what sets us apart. We don’t just open our doors to the public, we welcome members who become part of our extended family.
As we continue to grow, our mission remains the same: to provide a safe, loving environment where your dog can thrive, just like our Charlie did. Charlie's Stay + Play is more than just a business—it's a place inspired by the love that Jen and I have for our dogs, and we're excited to share that love with you and your furry family members.
